It's finally here! Our first product that was designed from the ground up using CAD software.
Many MK7/MK7.5/8 Golf/GTI/R drivers have complained about pedal spacing in these cars as how hard it is to heel/toe. Being MT drivers ourself, we have explored many options on the market including pedal extensions and have yet to find a solution that we liked. Hence we have designed this pedal spacer. We have went through multiple revisions of this spacer and it has undergone extensive on road and track testing before we settled on its final dimensions. We have had a group of testers that carried out testing in the past several months and we have received nothing but positive feedback regarding this product.
Our pedal spacer slots between the gas pedal assembly and the bracket and cleverly utilize the stock mounting points for a painless installation. The result is an approximately 0.5" raise in the gas pedal height. In our testing, we find this height to be optimal for heel toeing under various conditions. All testers reported seamless transition from brake to throttle and much better reach from the brake to gas pedal.
The product is CNC'd from aluminum and finished off with a sand blasted finish. It's almost too beautiful to be hidden behind the gas pedal.

"I’ve always had an issue with the MK7 pedal layout, I was unable to heeltoe with it and consulted online forums like vwvortex and golfmk7 as well as MK7 facebook groups about it several times, and it appears that I’m not the only one. We’ve all been searching for an answer and I’ve kept a close eye on a lot of different options including: 1) Self-fabbed sheets of metal for a wider pedal, but this looks way too ugly. 2) Rennline pedal replacements/covers, but this was too expensive at $200USD or something ridiculous like that 3) Razo pedal cover RP81/RP82. I actually bought this and tried it, hated it, tried it 3 more times in different configurations, hated it all, removed it the night I installed it. This pedal cover has too many sharp edges that caught in all sorts of ridges in the bottom of my shoes, and the pedal surface just didn’t feel nice. It’s also an ugly solution for the times you DO see your pedals, if that sort of thing bugs you. 4) Tried fitting an OEM brake pedal (which is wider) to the gas pedal, but that didn’t work out either because it extends itself to the opposite direction. So I realized I’d love a pedal with the nice shape and curvature of the OEM pedal, just raised a bit. WCT makes this pedal spacer that quite literally is formed to fit the shape of the pedal mounting point, can’t be seen once installed, and takes a couple minutes at most to install. It’s just one screw holding the pedal. I’ve noticed 3 marked improvements: 1) It raises pedal height by about half an inch so that it’s more in-line with your brake pedals. This allowed me to heeltoe without really digging my heel into my footwell searching for the pedal. 2) This one came as a surprise because I was just expecting easier heeltoes, but throttle response appears to be improved. This makes sense because the pedal is higher up, so it gets depressed more in the same distance. This is somewhat like a part two to the VCDS mod to improve throttle response, and I figured it helps because most drive-by-wires feel dead in the first 5-10% of pedal travel. Another person also noticed this in what was essentially a blind test, so it’s safe to say this isn’t just placebo. 3) This also makes driving in heavy traffic and up-hill much better, because I can transition between the two pedals easily and without getting my shoe caught on the edge of the brake pedal."

"If you have tiny feet and are having troubles heel-toeing in your car, this is it. Pretty simple design and install was relatively easy.
Essentially all it does is raise your gas pedal about half inch to about the same height as your brake pedal when depressed. I honestly didn't expect it to work as well as it did but so far it's been great I haven't had any issues heel-toeing since.

"Having a tested this both on the street and at autocross, I definitely feel this should be the way the pedal box should have been designed in the first place. It shortens the gap between the brake and accelerator, allowing for much easier heel toe. It does take a little bit of time to get used to when you first install, figuring out how much gas needed to revmatch, but in a week or so it should feel second nature"

"I love my VW MK7 Golf R 6sp, it’s a blast to drive and I really enjoy the driving engagement with the manual transmission. That being said, one of my biggest complaints is that the stock pedal setup makes it incredibly difficult to do heel-tool when down shifting. Well WCT Performance to the rescue with their new pedal spacer. It raises the height of the accelerator pedal to a perfect point where it makes heel-toes down shifts so much easier. "Using this product on a DSG equipped vehicle may seem pointless, but after having the opportunity to test this product on both the street and track, I found the adjusted gas pedal to be beneficial for faster and smoother transitions between the gas and brake pedal, for those who use only their right foot, and much more comfortable pedal positioning for left foot braking (no longer having uneven foot placement). Such a simple but intuitive adjustment makes for a far more enjoyable drive in this vehicle and I would highly recommend this product."

Found the spacer mentioned in a few forums related to issues with the GTI accelerator pedal height. All the comments seemed positive so I ordered and installed. A really simple solution. Now I'm back to properly rev matching downshifts without all the right foot and leg contortions .

WCT Performance Golf Pedal Spacer
After a long search for an answer to the non-sporting pedal placement of my 2018 Golf R (manual), I am happy to report that this simple device resolved the problem. As a long-time BMW driver, including instructing and racing my E30M3, I was used to the flat, floor-hinged accelerator pedal that was easy to adjust with an aftermarket pedal. The curved and top-hinged pedal on my new Golf was much more difficult to modify. I bought a custom pedal from another vendor that fit the curvature and provided an extension towards the brake pedal, but the accelerator pedal was still too low compared to the brake. Once I found the WCT spacer and after reading about it, I ordered one. The instructional video was clear, and the installation took me maybe 15 minutes. I was originally skeptical, but hopeful that the slight raising of the accelerator pedal would allow me to finally be able to blip the throttle during downshifts. I am happy to report that it did the job. Although having the accelerator pedal a wee bit closer to the brake would be better for me, with the WCT spacer I am now able to heel-toe my Golf R. The beauty of this thing is that it does the job and I can keep the factory sport pedals and don't need to drill anything. I highly recommend this product.

Great addition for 6MT
I have a MK7.5 R with 6MT. The pedal spacing was driving me crazy for heel/toe action. I just didn't feel I could do it consistently and safely with the factory setup. This really helped close the gap and make it easier. It actually felt more natural though to me just in normal usage of the gas pedal. This was the perfect addition! Totally worth it.
