An effective tool to help avoid Check Engine Lights. Pulls the Oxygen Sensor further away from the exhaust gas stream. 3 interchangable "jets" allow for choice of exhaust gas exposure.
Getting rid of a CEL can be more art than science... by causing less exhaust gas exposure to the O2 sensor, it can be "fooled" to think the catalytic converter is "doing it's job" and the CEL may not be illuminated. There is no rule of thumb as to how much gas exposure reduction will accomplish this goal. Before installing, the car's error codes should be reset so that the CEL is not illuminated. It is generally recommended to start with the most wide-open "jet" (orifice opening), then drive your car normally through varying drive states over several days to see if the CEL re-illuminates. If it does, repeat the process by resetting the error codes and then switching to the next more restrictive jet.
The "J" shape allows the O2 sensor to be installed parallel to the exhaust pipe for better clearance.
No-weld design. It simply screws in to your existing O2 sensor bung, and you then screw your O2 sensor in to the other end of the fitting.
M18 x 1.5 Thread. Accepts all standard O2 sensors. Full T304 Stainless Steel Construction.
